Is LAIKI high in saturated fat?
LAIKI crackers, made with wholegrain black or red rice, sustainably sourced palm fruit oil, and sea salt, contain 2–2.5 grams of saturated fat per serving (21–28 grams, or about 16–21 crackers), based on available nutritional data. For example, a 21-gram serving of Laiki Black Rice Crackers has 2 grams of saturated fat, which is 10% of the Daily Value (DV) based on a 2,000-calorie diet, while a 28-gram serving has 2.5 grams, or 13% of the DV. The American Heart Association recommends limiting saturated fat to 5–6% of daily calories (about 11–13 grams for a 2,000-calorie diet). At 2–2.5 grams per serving, LAIKI crackers are not particularly high in saturated fat compared to other snacks like potato chips (often 2–3 grams per ounce) or cookies (3–5 grams per serving). However, they’re not low either, as the saturated fat comes from palm fruit oil, which is naturally higher in saturated fat than other plant-based oils like olive or avocado oil. Eating one serving stays within moderate limits, but multiple servings could add up quickly, especially if paired with other sources of saturated fat. Portion control is key, and since LAIKI crackers are described as addictive, it’s easy to overeat. If you’re watching saturated fat for heart health, one serving is reasonable, but check labels for exact values, as formulations may vary slightly.
